CURRENT OPENINGS
I specialize in relational issues that affect men’s emotional and mental health. Through direct, solution-focused interventions, I support your development of healthier patterns and responses to what is valuable in your life.
In addition to behavioral and body-based techniques, I offer experiential modalities to address trauma, grief, and loss. I am certified in EMDR as well as equine assisted psychotherapy, and wilderness therapy, and I facilitate rites of passage work.
I have no waitlist and am accepting new clients across the lifespan. I support a multi-cultural, client centered approach to therapy and firmly believe in social equity to mental healthcare. A sliding scale is available upon request. Please accept my no-cost 15 minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit.
Janelle was born and raised in Palmer, and continues to live in Alaska today with her husband and children. Janelle loves spending time with family and friends, walking, hiking, reading, learning, and a good cup of coffee with cream.
She is passionate about working with individuals who desire increased self-esteem and developing healthy relationships, communication, connection, and boundaries in life. She enjoys working with adolescents as they take steps toward successful adulthood. She works with clients ages twelve through adults, as well as families. Janelle offers hope and a kind and straightforward approach to encourage individual outcomes for each client. Janelle utilizes a client-centered, personalized, and supportive intervention strategy to help clients overcome specific life challenges. Janelle is an EMDR provider.
My passion is working with women motivated to make a change that will positively impact them. I am certified in EMDR therapy. EMDR is a specialized therapy that allows people to heal from symptoms resulting from distressing life experiences. EMDR is shown to be more effective quicker than traditional talk therapy. It utilizes the brain's desire to heal itself just as our body seeks to heal from a physical wound (i.e., fighting infection, a scab protecting a wound, etc.).
I have a Master of Science from Alaska Pacific University in Counseling Psychology. I have worked with adolescents, families, chronic mental illness, and substance abuse. Currently, I provide EMDR Intensives (1-5 days of condensed therapy).
