I believe that the quickest and most effective method to reduce/eliminate your symptoms is through EMDR Intensive Therapy. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR helps us process negative feelings and change the way we think about ourselves and our memories. Because of the powerful healing effect of EMDR therapy, Intensives can produce faster than results weekly sessions using standard talk-therapy techniques. EMDR Intensives can help clients to process more information and heal quicker.
Typically, sessions will begin around 9:00AM and last until about 5:00PM, with several breaks in between (6 hours of therapy throughout the day). Intensives are individualized for various needs of the client which will vary from 1-5 days.
I suggest treating the days surrounding intensive sessions like a personal retreat. This is a time for clients to really focus on healing themselves. Schedule activities you enjoy around your sessions such as massages, yoga, and hiking.
